Intramurals

Intramural 2014

Intramural literally means 'written on the walls,' in other words, an intramural program is one that is carried on within the confines of a school or institutions. It is gradually increasing in stature, size and scope.
Last September 19, our school conducted the opening program of our school's intramural at the school's centennial gymnasium. The athletes had their parade first inside the campus before the program. On the next day, September 19, was the first day of intramural. It was raining but the intramural was not cancelled, it was still going on. The different clubs conducted different booths to add some excitement. There are message booth, marriage booth, movie booth and more. Supposed to be that our intramural will be conducted at two days but the next day, September 20, was the arrival of the typhoon Mario so that our intramural was postponed. We continued it on the weekdays. Those students who were not athletes, will be given a chance to watch only during Mapeh time. It was a weird policy for me. I didn't enjoyed it because of the rain and that policy.
The purpose of intramural program in schools is to offer an opportunity for voluntary participation in a varsity type program.

My Teacher, My Hero

My Teacher, My Hero!

Have you ever asked these questions to yourself? Who was it that risked her life that she might give that knowledge to me? Who was it that braved a thousand storms that sheltered it might be?
A teacher does it for me. A teacher that bears you're pains and sorrows. A teacher that trusts and stands by you always. A teacher that acts a second mother in school.
When I was a sophomore, I met this beautiful, young and charming teacher. At the  first place, I was shy and scared to her. But as days passed by, that shy and frightfulness to her was dissolving. We became close to each other. When I have a problems, her shoulders are always there to cry or lean on. She gives me advice's and confrontations. She's an angel in disguise.
I am very thankful to have her in my life. She's the best teacher I've ever met. She's one of a kind of a hero.

Science Month Celebration

In our present generation, many things were invented because of Science and Technology. We all know that this things were very useful in our lives. It makes our life easier to live. In this case, have you ever think the disadvantages of these despite of their advantages? Did you ever know that these things might affect your health and the cause of your death?
In our country now, were facing many struggles in our life. One of these problems is our health. Our health was affected because of the product of Science and Technology. These inventions of us, may affect our health. For example, the television. It contains radiation that causes to poor eyesight. We, people must invent some things with the use of non-toxic materials that may not affect our health. Why not use indigenous materials in spite of the toxic ones? Its better to use recyclable materials to lessen the trash in our surroundings and pollution.
Were facing a crisis in our country right now, so let's make a move. Be smart to make our nation a better one. Be thrifty. Use recyclable materials instead of buying expensive materials is a big help for us.
Know first the advantages and disadvantages of your inventions. Think first before you make a move. Always remember, "Health is Wealth." The time is running.

My Modern Hero

Have you seen this boy?

In the middle of the classroom, I just stood there shocked. Watching the fire to grew bigger. Until I realized that I'm in danger. I did not know what to do at that time, I'm hopeless. I just thought to myself that it was impossible for me to survive. I thought it would be my last day here on earth. I just closed my eyes and waited the fire to reach me. Until I felt a warm hand that pulled me away.......
It was the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) Workshop. I was chosen by our school paper adviser to be one of the participants. I was assigned on the Editorial Writing. The program started with the speeches of the guests. As the program ended, I went to the designated room for the the Editorial Writing. Were too many participants. In the fact that I'm the first one who reached the classroom, I sat on the front row while the late comers stayed outside the classroom. The electric fan and the computer was near to me. Before the lecture started, we have prayed first. In the middle of the lecture, the computer and electric fan overheated. A fire occurred. Everyone panicked. The electrical lines were sparkling. There were live currents on it. It was scary. Some cried while some shouted for help. It was too hard for me to escape the room because it was crowded. At the door, there were some chairs hindering. A stranded occurred. My fellow students were moving vastly to escape while me, I just stood there with mouth wide-opened because of shockness. Until I realized that I'm in danger. I'm very hopeless at that time. I thought to myself that this was my last day on earth. I closed my eyes and waited the fire to reach me. As I was crying in frightness, a warm hand pulled me away. I thought that I was in heaven at that time. Until I heard a loud cries. As I opened my eyes, I saw a boy smiling at me while saying,"You're safe."
He is small, with a korean black hair style. He has a fair complexion. I was not given a chance to know his name. I owe my life to him. He's  my knight in shining armor. My unknown hero!

Life Beyond Circumstances

Circumstances are one of the important things in my life. Why these are  important to me? Wanna know the reason?
I consider that circumstances are one of the important things in my life because it test how strong I am. I can still remember when the time that I have a big problem, I was feeling down because I didn't know how to solve it. It was really hard for me to solve it. I lost hope. My faith to the Lord was going to fade because of this matter but I still prayed to the Lord to seek help and guidance. The only thing that I could do was nothing but to cry. I could not help myself to stop my tears from falling. Sometimes, I was thinking to commit a suicide just to overpass this problem but I could not. I was not yet ready to die because I have many dreams in life and I did not still reach them now. My conscience was killing me at this times. Until one day, I found a solution to my problem. The lord granted my pryers and I was very thankful because the Lord is always with me. I was able to solve it and back to normal life again.
"God doesn't give us any problems that we can not tolerate." From now on, I will keep this quotation in my mind. This serves a lesson and having a strong faith to the Lord.

SONA 2014

"The Filipino is definitely worth fighting for," this striking message was mentioned by our President Benigno Simeon "PNoy" C. Aquino III, during his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) in front of senators and congressmen in Batasan Complex, Quezon City last July 28, 2014.

PNoy started his speech by touching the controversial Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) which was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. He mentioned the benefits of the mechanism which helped 220,000 students of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to the tune of Php 1.6 billion DAP funds. He then showed two video testimonials of those who benefited from TESDA scholarships. The address also enumerated the achievements of his administration over the year, which includes good economic performance, increased budget in infrastructure, success of Public-Private Partnerships, calamity efforts, among others. He was also combative against the critics of his administration, saying that they are actually against his "Boss," the people. He also had strong words against rice hoarders and corrupt officials who were put in jail at the Bureau of Customs. At the end of his speech, the President praised some religious leaders, local government heads, NGO's, soldiers and artists who made significant contributions. He also showed another video testimonials of three policewomen who arrested the Martilyo Gang. He was very emotional when he remembered the memory of his parents. To conclude his address, he urged the Filipino people to be the key in continuing the positive transformation that his administration started.

For me, this was his best SONA ever in his past 4 years of leading the country. Though it was simple, it catches the attention of the listeners. He is really educated because he did not even mentioned the Supreme Court and the three senators who are in jail for the pork barrel scam. It was great that he did not blame this time the past administrations for the problems the country is now facing.

Our country has so many problems right now, and our president is right in rallying his 'bosses'-the Filipino people- to help him in continuing  the positive transformation his administration has started and will be doing in the next two years.
